The heat is also what kills cheap coatings. Tires come off the 15 hot enough to soften a thin store bought paint, and as they cool they grip it and lift it off the slab in patches. That is hot tire pickup, and it is the single most common reason a DIY garage floor kit fails in this valley. A slab that has been diamond ground back to open concrete, with a proper epoxy base and a polyaspartic topcoat over it, does not do that, because the coating is bonded into the concrete rather than sitting on a sealed surface.

Epoxy Floor Coatings
Epoxy is the layer that does the structural work underneath everything else. It is thick, it keys hard into a ground slab, and it fills the small imperfections the grinder exposes. Polyaspartic is the clear layer that goes on last, and in a Temecula summer it earns its keep. The master planned communities are where the garages are: Harveston up at the north end around its lake park, Paloma del Sol in the middle of the city, and Redhawk, Vail Ranch and Wolf Creek down in the south. Do you actually come out to Temecula?

Why did my last garage floor coating peel off in patches?
Almost always two reasons together. The concrete was never ground open, so the coating only sat on top of it, and hot tires coming off the 15 grabbed it as they cooled. Grinding the slab first is what stops that happening again.
Does the Temecula heat damage a coated floor?
